Tudors Treasure won again at Exeter yesterday, his second chase win inside a month. He went off the 11/4 favourite as a recent course and distance winner, and he won by a length under a great Tom O’Brien ride.
The 8 year old had won over hurdles but always looked like being a better chaser. He was unlucky to fall a couple of times as a novice last year but he’s really got his confidence now. Hopefully he’ll run again in a couple of weeks time if the ground doesn’t get too quick.
First Destination also ran at Exeter, having a first run over hurdles. She’s a lovely mare and we were really pleased with her run to finish 6th, she’d been off the track for a long time since winning a bumper in 2017. This was a really encouraging run and she jumped very well. Again she’ll be out in 2 to 3 weeks time if the ground doesn’t go against us.
The racing club horses Secondo and Castlelyons ran at Kempton and Newbury last week. Secondo ran well but the race didn’t pan out to suit him, he was quite handy and was left in front, ideally he needs to be covered up and delivered late. Castlelyons was trying 2 1/4 miles for the first time, and didn’t quite see out the trip.
Over Easter weekend Beltor goes for the Sussex Champion Hurdle at Plumpton on Sunday. Comeonthebull holds an entry at Chepstow on Monday, we’ll have to wait and see if he gets in because there are a lot of entries.
