Street Jester has come out of his win at Bath last week very well, it was great to see him win his second race. The handicapper has put him up 3lb. The race was a qualifier for the Bath summer stayers’ series and we’ll target the final in September (he seems to like Bath!), but he’ll run have another run first.
Secondo goes back to Chepstow tomorrow at 3.30pm for a 6 furlong sprint. Last time there he finished 6th from a bad draw, and he was also hampered by another jockey coming off. He has a better draw this time and I’m hoping for a closer finish.
Toshima runs at Ffos Las at 6.55pm. He’d have every chance on his second here 3 runs back. He was pulled up the time after, but he didn’t run a bad race back on the flat at Sandown last time. Hopefully he’ll go close. Push The Tempo had also been entered at Ffos Las but unfortunately misses out due to a foot abscess which is somewhat frustrating. Hopefully he’ll be back soon.
Balkinstown, fifth last time out at Worcester, holds an entry at Newton Abbot on Sunday and all being well I expect he’ll run.
At home we’ve formed three new paddocks. We try to get all the horses out in the field for a spell after their exercise, and they’ve been enjoying the sun on their backs in recent weeks as you can see in the picture!
